Specific Regulations

• Be careful on sensitive mountain ecosystem terrain.

• Absolutely respect the landing and packing zone. 

• Do not park your car or park on the private road at the edge of the land. 

• There is ample free parking near the gondola. 

• Land in the process of being approved; your friendly & positive attitude will help us in negotiations!

Flight conditions

Morning flight site. Thermal from the east or by flow going down the valley (known locally as "bise" or light "foehn").

Dangers & difficulties

• Takeoff followed by a small break and a path downstream. Pay attention to the concrete fixing of the slope grooming machines. A one meter high iron bar fixed to the concrete is invisible from takeoff.

• In light wind conditions, it is sometimes possible to fly, if the wind is weak. Be careful of turbulence after takeoff.

• Landing in the lee of a relief when the valley breeze sets in. After 11am, landing is random. Avoid in the afternoon in almost daily breeze conditions. No visual of landing since takeoff

• In winter, taking off from the ski slope is prohibited. Ask for information at the ski lifts.

Level

Beginner supervised cross country.

Landing

Les Chavants, at the end of the road, a large field on the left. The area reserved for landing and folding or packing of the wing is indicated on the club sign.

Layout

• Windsocks, possibility of requesting the strength of the wind from the gondola.

• Variants If the wind turns west, southwest see:

  • • Plancert

    • Grand Prarion 20 minutes walk.

Access

• Prarion cable car, in Les Houches (summer: paragliding prices). Large free parking lot. The takeoff is located at the exit of the gondola, on the blue slope.

• Viaduc Sainte-Marie SNCF station + 5 min walk to the Prarion gondola.

• Mont-Blanc tramway, departure from Saint-Gervais, Col de Voza stop then 20 minutes on foot.
