Specific Regulations

Avoid flying over the animal park, in order to respect the animals and avoid conflicts with the owners.

Flight conditions

Flight site from late morning to late afternoon. Thermodynamic breeze and soaring conditions often are prevelant.

Dangers & difficulties

• Need a precise inflation of the wing: take-off on an incline. Fairly sharp break in the slope generating a small roll on the flat where the wing is spread.

• Particular wind conditions combining thermodynamics of the valley wind.

• The take-off is at the limit of the roll generated by the Coupeau plateau on the right at the take-off exit: avoid this area. Excellent dynamic performance on the left after takeoff on the west shoulder of Merlet Park.

Landing

Gravel pit in Cachat. Be careful, the landing is very technical. The gravel pit is not always free of space depending on vehicle traffic and the work undertaken there. Near the Arve torrent river.

• By car, from Les Houches, route de Coupeau, access to the car park of the Merlet animal park and 10 min. on foot following the Aiguillette des Houches trail.

• Les Houches SNCF station + 2 hours on foot.
